Newly renovated, and they did a fantastic job with it. They managed to pack an amazing amount of stuff into a small park space, and it seems like they got just about every request from the community meetings.
The children LUV this Park !!! It has slides, swings for more than 1 child at a time (2-4) depends on how the sit or some even lay down on the swing it's really cool !!! Kinda new and a different twist on your average old school wooden playground that I knew as a kid.
I love this new playground. First--trains! It took us a couple of visits before my son would leave the overlook area because he was so thrilled to see the trains. But it's both compact-ish so I could an eye on my older daughter who was loving the natural climbing elements.
The playground was totally renovated over the past year and reopened on 8/25/2018. The new layout and structures are great! Kid's from toddlers to middle schoolers were all having a great time. There's still a lot more shade (trees) than most Somerville playgrounds, which is great.
Bringing a toddler?
