Indoor Playground Birthday Parties

An indoor playground is the closest thing to an easy birthday party: the kids burn off energy on the equipment, the weather can't ruin anything, and someone else handles setup and cleanup. 5,327 venues in this directory host parties — every one carries the Hosts birthday parties badge on its listing. Packages vary, but most build around the same pieces: a block of play time, a private or reserved party room, and food add-ons (pizza is the near-universal option). Many include a party host who wrangles the cake-and-presents logistics so you don't have to.

Booking a playground party: what to ask

How far ahead should I book?
Aim for 3–4 weeks out, more for Saturday-afternoon slots — weekends fill first everywhere. If you're flexible, a Sunday morning or Friday-evening party is usually easier to get and sometimes cheaper.
Exclusive use or shared floor?
This is the single biggest difference between packages. Some venues close the whole playground for your group; most give you a private party room while the play floor stays open to the public. Neither is wrong — but ask, so you're not surprised when open-play kids are on the slides during your party.
What about socks?
Most indoor playgrounds require grip socks, and that goes for your party guests too. Ask whether socks are included in the package or sold at the door, and put a line on the invitation so parents come prepared.
Deposit and waiver logistics?
Expect a deposit to hold the slot — ask if it's refundable and what the reschedule policy is. Most venues also require a signed waiver per child; if there's an online waiver, send the link out with the invitations so check-in day isn't a paperwork line.
What's usually included?
Typically a set play block, a reserved room for a set headcount, and paper goods; food (usually pizza), drinks, and extra guests are add-ons. Ask whether you can bring your own cake — most allow it, some charge a fee for outside food.
