Indoor playgrounds in Chicago
Chicago winters are five months long, which is why the city's indoor play scene runs deep — Kids Empire on Kedzie for classic climb-and-slide floors, Altitude and Sky Zone for trampoline energy, Fit City Kids and ClimbZone for something more structured. The city proper skews toward compact neighborhood spots; the giant multi-zone playgrounds live out in the suburbs, usually a 20–30 minute drive. Weekday mornings are the calm window. The first cold Saturday after Halloween, every family north of the Loop has the same idea — arrive at opening or book a party room and skip the line entirely.
