My sister and I stumbled across this on our trip, first seeing signs along the roadway and eventually the Bison itself in the distance. We knew we had to stop. The Bison himself is cool, but I also really enjoyed the museum nearby that shows the history of Buffalo, some interactive exhibits, and really interesting…
We stopped to see the Buffalo and wandered around Frontier Village. It was a fun time and a great break in driving. It is free to go through the village. You do have to pay to go through the museum. The is minimal RV parking up by the museum. There is a stagecoach ride available and pony rides for the kids.
Jamestown advertises itself with the world's largest buffalo. Not the largest living bison, but a gigantic replica of this bovine animal native to the prairies of North America. Because that's what a bison is. Bison and buffalo are cattle and belong to the Bovidae family.
The world’s largest buffalo is located at Pioneer Village in Jamestown, ND. We arrived in the area around 10pm and we didn’t realize the buffalo was inside of a whole attraction area (Pioneer Village).
