What parents highlight
“Mercer park is a very fun, clean, and safe park.”
What parents say
This park has a fantastic playground with TONS of activities for kids of all ages! There is plenty of seating for parents, a pavilion, shade trees nearby, and so much more. I didn’t see a restroom near the playground, though. Even without a restroom, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re anywhere near this park.
I'm only giving this park 4 instead of 5 stars because of the lack of restrooms at the playground (you have to go inside the building with the pool to use the restroom) and overall safety concerns.
We were visiting Iowa City and looked up parks to go to. Mercer park stood out visually online. Upon visiting, we thought the playground itself was great for our 5 year old. She had a lot of fun trying the different pieces of equipment out. Everything looked newer and in great shape.
There has never been a more beautiful Park. My niece's could have played for hours and they did Play 4 hours. The playground is big enough that adults can help their kids and enjoy their kids on the playground. There are things on the playground for kids of all ages. The playground is just simply gorgeous.
