Indoor playgrounds in Las Vegas
Vegas splits its indoor play scene in two: the tourist side (the Adventuredome's five-acre indoor theme park at Circus Circus) and the local side, out in Summerlin and Henderson, where the actual residents take their kids when it's 110 outside. The locals' side is the good side — Ninja Kidz Action Park is one of the highest-rated kids' venues in the country, and the Discovery Children's Museum downtown does double duty as a hands-on play space. Summer here works like winter elsewhere: open-play sessions fill up on 110-degree afternoons, so go at opening time. Many venues also run late hours — this is one of the few cities where "indoor playground open now" at 8 PM usually has an answer.
